PERCEPTION

2018
Client: RSID Year End Show.
Location:  Toronto Metropolitan University School of Interior Design

Ryerson’s School of Interior Design hosts its annual Year End Show (YES) to conclude the academic year. The overarching theme of the 2018 Year End Show was Process, in which it aimed to reveal the progression and development of the creative journey. With the intent to explore shape and reflection, we aimed for our installation to bring forward a unique perspective of the space in which we spent most of our days within.

Perception is an exploration of the bond between reflection and form, acting as a viewport that enhances and twists the audience’s experience of physical space. Looking through the prisms, the images of the school are transformed through the reflective surfaces to produce a new perspective of where we work and learn. The reflection is an outward expression of the events that influence our ideas, while the shape is the fruition of our results.
